The exceptional qualities of this compact sports sedan, which will arrive in the showrooms in spring 2001, are reflected in its impressive technical credentials: equipped with a compressor-type supercharger, the 3.2-liter V6 engine generates 260 kW/354 hp while its remarkable maximum torque of 450 newton meters outclasses every other series production car in this segment, demonstrating, once again, that Mercedes-AMG GmbH is second to none when it comes to developing outstanding high-performance automobiles.
The maximum torque of 450 newton meters which is achieved at 4400 rpm clearly sets the new V6 supercharged engine apart from all current competitors in the medium sports segment. But the peak torque is only part of the story: the torque band of the supercharged six-cylinder engine is equally impressive. Over 400 newton meters of torque are available at just 2300 rpm and remain on tap right up to the rated speed of 6100 rpm, giving the car truly outstanding dynamic potential. The C 32 AMG accelerates to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds and has a maximum speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited).
