Volvo axes LPG option
[06 May 2005] Volvo has announced that it is to stop selling Bi-Fuel LPG vehicles.
The decision is a result of plunging sales prompted by increasing uncertainty over the future of LPG taxation.
But it's not all bad news. Volvo says it will now be concentrating on CNG for its Bi-Fuel strategy - promising even better CO2 performance than LPG.
Thus the S60 and V70 will continue to be available in CNG Bi-Fuel form. But the old LPG models will be canned when 2006 Model Year production gets under way on May 16.
