Hi all, I was the lucky man who bought the car. Not a dealer, but do own part of a garage in surrey- Will play with it for a bit and review it after a trip to classic lemans! The interesting thing was that BCA kippered themselves by asking me if i wanted to jump up by 2.5k at the end. They told me afterwards that the internet bidding took a while to catch up in which time they had put the hammer down- The internet bidding went on beyond 625K! Guess its better lucky, than clever. As to valuations, i have no idea! There are rumours of a cheap one being sold when the world fell appart a year or so ago. I also figured the year of the car really wont matter in years to come. For example, you really don't care if a mclaren F1 is a 1994 0r 1998- Its still an F1- Anyway, thats my mad logic. Must rush now as need to sell something to pay the bill!!
Hi, running costs are horrendous and part of the reason these are dropping versas an Enzo. The tyres are £5500 a pop and last 10,000 km- then every 30,000 you need a new set of wheels for £25,000- I am not your regular Veyron owner - more the budget variety! - I think the wheel problem is easily solved on a day to day bases with a set of race wheels/less highly rated tyres. The veyron wheels/tyres are only so expensive as they are supposedly rated to 250mph- will just have to keep under 200mph on ordinary roads! The annual oil service is a whopping £13k- its 35hours and the rest is parts- I have a plan here as i own a garage and know a man with the necessary lap top gear! The problem will be lack of official stamps when i sell if i go down this route. They are supposed to be relatively hassle free and there are a couple in germany that have done over 60,000km. However, if the gearbox goes bang you will see me in tears at the side of the road!
Hi all, I collected it today from Blackbush after a huge row with my insurance company! THey said it was covered until 5mins before collection when the annouced that it would increase my annual premium by £10,000, plus a 10k excess. After threatening to remove my companies insurance business, i drove it back 3rd party fire and theft! The conversation will continue tomorrow! So whats it like- Its really very similar to a V10 Audi R8 with loads of more power- at low speed its really docile- suspension is a bit hard and trundley- am not sure if you can change this? I gave it a medium blast on the M3 but didnt go stupid. I gave it a good clean as the carpet were filthy- it seem BCA were frightened to clean it! Used good old foam and nail brush- bet not many owners clean there own cars! Then went for a little run arround the perimeter road at Dunsfold, then a quick blast down the straight that follows the side of the runway- Floored it at aboy 30mph and it goes like a bullit or more like a plane - It doesnt feel like a car as its savage. I own an F40 and a 600hp Gemballa 993- They would be blown into the weeds! Do i like it? Well obviously its utterly FAB- Is it worth 10 audi r8's or 6 599'S- The answer is no! Will try to post some pics tomorrow. I love the idea of FA57 BUG, but sadly its an 06 car.
