Our friends over at TAG Motorsports in California really outdid themselves on ‘Black Betty’, their own BMW F82 M4.
We here at Baan Velgen love M4’s, we’re lucky to have seen quite a few of these German powerhouses pass through our shop already and we can’t get enough of them.
But this really is something else, so we’d love to talk you through some of the details and parts that went into this build.
See it as some inspiration, an example of what is possible when customising your car in style.

Black Betty has sported several different looks and setups, but the current configuration is by far our favorite configuration!
Even when you’re not familiar with the M4, the first thing many would notice is the fact that this is car is low…it’s really low.
The guys at TAG installed a set of KW Variant 3 coilovers and dialed it down to the lowest possible setting.
This results in an even sleeker look and a perfect stance, tucking the wheels nicely in the wheelgaps.
Talking about the wheels, the setup you see on this car was achieved by installing some truly beautiful HRE Performance Wheels, from their Classic series.
These 3-piece HRE 303 wheels measure 20×9.5 in the front and 20×11.5 at the rear of the car, finished in a combination of Brushed Dark Clear centers and a polished lip, and create a classy unique look.
These wheels where wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, measuring 255/30/20 and 305/25/20 to make sure the car sticks to the road.

Zo'n CSL is prachtig, sowiso, maar die GTS is toch nog net een tikkeltje knapper, beter klinkend imo, en dan int oranje

Gohja, eigenlijk zijn het 2 uitersten ook.
Qua looks, valt niet over te discussiëren. De sound, ik hou enorm van de typische rasp van een E46, klinkt totaal anders als de V8 van een E92.
CSL gaat volgens mij ook meer fun geven, terwijl de GTS wat eerder naar een muscle car trekt.

Ik zal ik de CSL pakken, en pakt gij de GTS kefkie, kunnen we eens wisselen op de Ring
