Ik zie geen enkele gelijkenis met een C5 ...

Een beetje de stijl van AUDI Q7 lijkt mij. Neus is meer afgeplat.

Volvo XC90 will arrive in 2012

Volvo officials have replied to Auto Motor Sport Sweden with a brief statement that XC90 facelift is indeed in development; however, the next generation XC90 has not been canceled.

Although it is still not clear, the 2012 Volvo XC90 will undoubtedly be built using a Ford platform to take advantage of cost savings in an effort to remain competitive as stated above.

By making a fresh start with a new platform, Volvo will lose a couple of years, but the benefit of having a more competitive model is worth the investment, especially as such an important vehicle to Volvo as the XC90.

The updated XC90 that was scheduled for 2010 introduction, has been canceled.
Instead, the current model will undergo a facelift that will keep it on the market until 2012.
Volvo has stated that the second generation XC90 is not canceled altogether, as rumored, but its introduction could be delayed.
The next generation was sent back to the engineering board to improve the vehicles weight, handling, and most important of all, its fuel efficiency. The next generation is expected to grow slightly in size to better compete with the likes of the BMW X5.
Volvo engineers will improve on engine fuel efficiency through the use of hybrid technology and other innovations such as start-stop technology. The 2012 XC90 will borrow heavily from the design of the current XC60, but will be better packaged for luxury consumers. The vehicle will feature a larger third row seat and a panoramic sun roof as seen on the Volvo XC60. The car did have a slight change in the headlights for the 2007 model.

Het ziet er vooral uit als een photoshop van de "oude" c30 neus op een suv, vind er ook niks in terug van de nieuwe lijn die volvo volgt à la c70/xc60, geen ledjes of dergelijke meer

't is gewoon nog veel te vroeg om een idee te hebben hoe hij er zal uit zien.

En nog altijd een van mijn favorite SUV's

Oei... hopelijk gaan ze niet de toer op zoals de Audi Q7 en behouden ze de elegantie van het huidige model gecombineerd met de uitstekende praktische bruikbaarheid van de 2 achterste zeteltjes, die er op dit moment een veel betere 5+2 van maken dan diezelfde Q7.

Vermits de laatste Volvo's een schitterend design hebben (C30, XC60 en nu ook de nieuwe S60) heb ik hoge verwachtingen qua geslaagd design.
