Bentley Bentayga Going Under The Knife, Facelifted Model Should Echo The New Flying Spur
The Bentley Bentayga is large and luxurious, but it’s not exactly beautiful. However, the company appears to be working on a minor facelift for the crossover.
Spotted undergoing testing in Europe, the model has been equipped with restyled headlights that mimic those ones used on the 2020 Flying Spur. There doesn’t appear to be any other changes up front, but the production model is expected to adopt a revised grille and modified bumper. Those two components should also be influenced by the redesigned sedan which was unveiled earlier this year.
The rear end has been updated as well as we can see restyled taillights peeking through the camouflage. Their design is hard to make out, but they have an oval-shaped LED light ring that echoes the design on the Continental GT.
Spy photographers couldn’t get close enough to snap interior pictures, but updates should be relatively minor since the Bentayga is only a few years old. That being said, the model could be outfitted with an updated infotainment system and new driver assistance technology.
Engine options should carryover, but we wouldn’t be surprised if a number of them receive a minor power boost. In particular, the twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 could see its output climb from 600 hp (447 kW / 608 PS) to 626 hp (467 kW / 635 PS). This would allow it to match the numbers generated by the Flying Spur.
If that happens, we can also expect the Bentayga Speed to get more power as its twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 currently produces 626 hp (467 kW / 635 PS). Nothing is official, but the model will likely share performance specs with the upcoming Continental GT Speed which is rumored to have between 641 hp (478 kW / 650 PS) and 661 hp (493 kW / 670 PS).
Other powertrain options, such as the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 and plug-in hybrid system, should carryover.
