Renault Megane E-Tech Electric Spied Ahead Of Its Munich Debut
The Munich Motor Show kicks off next week and Renault will use the event to introduce the Megane E-Tech Electric, which is also known as the MeganE.
Despite an unveiling scheduled for September 6th, testing continues on the electric crossover as spy photographers have snapped the model being benchmarked against the Volkswagen ID.4.
Previewed by last year’s Megane eVision concept, the production model features a fully enclosed grille with a prominent Renault emblem. Slender headlights reside on either side and they’re accompanied by dynamic daytime running lights. Further below, there are triangular air curtains and a distinctive mesh intake.

Continuing down the sides, the MeganE has plastic body cladding, aerodynamic wheels and hidden door handles. The crossover also features a rakish windscreen, which flows into a sloping roof.
The rear end is a little plain, but it boasts slender taillights, a tailgate-mounted spoiler and a bumper which lacks exhaust cut outs.
Spy photographers didn’t get a glimpse inside, but previous teaser photos have shown the MeganE will have a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment system with a portrait orientation. They’ll be joined by a floating center console, minimalist switchgear, and a wireless smartphone charger.
While a number of questions remain, Renault has already confirmed the MeganE will ride on the same CMF-EV platform that underpins the Nissan Ariya. The company has also revealed the model will have a 60 kWh battery pack and an electric motor that develops 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS). This should enable the crossover to have a range of up to 280 miles (450 km) in the WLTP test cycle.
